Valid identification is required for all notarizations
In-Person Notarization
Must present one of the following current, valid, physical IDs:
- State-issued Driver's License
- State-issued ID Card
- U.S. Passport or Passport Card
- Military ID Card
- Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
- Foreign Passport with Valid U.S. Visa
* ID must be unexpired and contain a photograph, physical description, signature, and serial number
Remote Online Notarization (RON)
Requires multi-factor authentication:
- Primary ID (same as in-person requirements)
- Secondary ID (credit card, utility bill, etc.)
- Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA)
- Credential Analysis of ID

What ID do I need for Remote Online Notarization?⌄
For RON, you need a valid primary government ID and may need a secondary ID. The process includes Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) and credential analysis to verify identity before notarization is completed.
